Shipping the samples

Packaging: if you are shipping on dry ice or ice packs

If we request the samples on dry ice (or ice packs), we recommend a three-layer package:

• Exterior packaging (cardboard)
• Insulator (styrofoam box)
• Sample containers (usually Falcon tubes, zip-loc bags, or Eppendorf tubes and plates)

Dry ice comes in different sizes. Larger ones sublime slower and last longer. Dry ice sublimes at a rate of 2%/hr in average.

Use at least 10 kg of dry ice (and more if larger samples) and choose the fastest delivery option.
